Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service have provided services to children and families in the Leinster area for over 40 years. All of our work is underpinned by the values of honesty, justice, fairness, respect and compassion.
There have been media reports in the Irish examiner and other papers regarding the sentencing of a former Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service employee Mr. Paul Craven for 4 years imprisonment on 11 counts of historical child sexual abuse regarding his nephew Mr. Alan Jenkins over a 10-year period 1989 – 1999.
At no point were there or have there ever been any allegations made against Mr. Craven while he worked in our organisation.
When we were made aware of the historical allegations, we took necessary and appropriate safeguarding action under our internal procedures and Children First Guidance, including appropriate legal advice. The matter was also reported to the appropriate authorities.
As an organisation with children and families at the Centre of our work, our thoughts are with Mr. Jenkins, his family and all victims of abuse.
We can be contacted through our office in Northwood on 01 8425100 or admin@docharity.ie
